The Brides of North Texas launched their premiere magazine last night at their official launch party at the Nylo Hotel. The party was a hit with exquisite décor, food, drinks, and music. The event featured five Behind the Scenes Films produced by Hakim Sons Films, which showcased different photo shoots done for the magazine. We are truly honored to be the official filmmaker for The Brides of North Texas!
As if being the filmmaker of choice for the publication wasn’t exciting enough, my wedding is featured in the magazine as well! Make sure you pick up your copy of The Brides of North Texas when it hits stands in February. It’s a must have wedding planning resource. Congratulations to The Brides of North Texas team for a magnificent first issue!

Love story:
Our love story started back in summer of 2000 at Camp Mosaic where Ambreen was an activity counselor and I was a group counselor. When Camp started, we both felt a natural attraction to each other. After camp ended, we dated for a few weeks, but being young and not ready for a relationship, we went on with life.
Throughout the years, Ambreen and I would have run-ins at various events and places. We both will admit that we always felt something special, but we never really gave much thought to it, and life continued.
In October of 2006 at Partnership Walk, Ambreen and I had another one of those run-ins, but this one was different. Instead of the generic hello, this time we stopped and talked to one another. After years of pretending to be strangers, we finally had a conversation. Facebook had just become really popular around this time, so through Facebook I contacted Ambreen. We exchanged phone numbers and finally I got enough courage to ask Ambreen out on a date. As the months went on, we got to know each other better. A year later, in October 2007, we got our parents’ blessings, and here we are doing the countdown to our wedding day!
Proposal :
Ambreen’s favorite number is 8 so I wanted to do something that would not only be memorable, but also incorporate the number 8. Luckily in the year 2008, I had that opportunity. On Friday August 8, 2008 I picked her up and blind folded her and took her to Lake Carolyn in Las Colinas, TX. After we parked our car, I walked her down to the boat docks where a Gondola was waiting for us. Ambreen knew something was up at that moment and exactly at 8:08 pm when the sun was setting on 08/08/2008, I asked Ambreen if she would marry me. She said, “YES!!” The memorable night continued as we enjoyed the Gondola ride under the stars, with romantic ballads sung by the gondolier. Next was a limo ride and dinner at the French Room where we celebrated our “official engagement,” with Ambreen and I reminiscing about how our journey started. We concluded the night with a ride around the town before heading back home.
