My Bride Wars’ experience

Last night I had the honor of joining the Texas Bridal Show, and 106.1 Kiss FM at the North Park Mall AMC to attend the premiere of Bride Wars, one of the most anticipated comedies this year. Not only was I excited to join some of our friends at the premiere, but, it didn’t hurt to be one of the official sponsors of the premiere, and to have VIP seats waiting for us 😉 In Bride wars, two best friends trash their friendship while battling for a wedding date at one of the most sought after venues in New York, Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel. This is definitely a must see for any engaged couple, as I was not only able to relate to the storyline as a film maker but also as a groom-to-be. Check out the trailer for the movie, at BrideWars.com, and make sure that you schedule time to attend this with your significant other. I would love to hear your bride wars’ experience once you have had a chance to view the...

Hakim Sons Films – reviews by brides on marthastewart.com & weddingwire.com

So people are always asking professionals/artists, if they have any testimonials to share from their past clients. Well, one of our strategies has been to always get feedback from our past clients after they have had a chance to view the cinematic rendition of their day. So, now I want to take a minute to share some of these reviews/testimonials with you. Read on to see what brides are saying about our services… —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————- Quality of Service: (5.0/5.0) Responsiveness: (5.0/5.0) Professionalism: (5.0/5.0) Value For Cost: (5.0/5.0) Flexibility: (5.0/5.0) I would absolutely recommend Hakim & Sons Videography for videography! Shezad and his staff was so professional, you barely knew they were there. We were very appreciative the staff was everywhere yet somehow unseen at the same time. The best part is when we saw the video it was more than we ever imagined! We watched the video and said “was that OUR wedding?!” I saw people I didn’t remember seeing that nights, moments my hubby and I missed and the most part was able to have these live memories for the rest of our lives. The video quality along with edits were extremely innovative and creative. In fact several of my friends and family purchased the video to share with friends. As a planner and as a bride, Hakim & Sons are the best you can find! Reviewed On: Sep 15, 2008 at 10:03 PM —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————- Quality of Service: (5.0/5.0) Responsiveness: (5.0/5.0) Professionalism: (5.0/5.0) Value For Cost: (5.0/5.0) Flexibility: (5.0/5.0) I found Hakim & Sons Videography through one of my bridesmaids who had him film her wedding. They did an amazing job capturing all the events of our day. The video is breathtaking! I’m not sure hollywood could have done a better job. The artistic editing made the video fun to watch, stylish, and beautiful. Shezad really captured the elegance of our ceremony and all of the special moments before, after and during the ceremony. My parents (who were against the idea of having a videographer) and I agree that the video was the most special thing that we have to remember from the wedding. Hakim and Sons were also extremely professional and did a great job of being unobtrusive. My husband and I couldn’t...

Having fun at lunch!

Yesterday, I had a great lunch at The Keg Steakhouse with couple of my dear photographer friends. With us was Humza Yasin, Luke Edmonson, and Kevin Jairaj. I truly savored this moment because this was the first time that three leading photographers in Dallas were meeting for a brainstorming session and they invited me to join them. It was fun hanging out with these guys and talking about the industry and our aspirations. — Shezad If you have not done so, you definitely need to check out all their portfolios on their appropriate websites and get a feel for how talented these guys really are. Exclusive Seclusive

Destination weddings are all about providing memorable experiences and the best resorts host a lavish and exotic affair…exciting activities that help seal the bond between the bride and groom and their guests, says destination-wedding expert Marianne Weiman-Nelson of Special Occasions, Inc. Located on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya is an excellent choice for couples seeking a “retreat resort” that provides world-class luxury service, says Weiman-Nelson. “You just walk in and you feel relaxed,” she says of this tropical resort, which has a huge spa offering Asian and Mayan-inspired treatments. The “vast and extravagant” Presidential Villa is a private beach front hideaway for newlyweds, served by a private butler and chef. Located on the Riviera Maya is the 128-suite Rosewood Mayakobá, described by Weiman-Nelson as “luxury surrounded by jungle.” She adds: “You can hold events in four different settings—in the jungle, on the beach, on a boat for a lagoon party or even at the Mayan ruins—without ever crossing over locations,” she says. The 1,600-acre resort has a Greg Norman designed golf course, spa and long private beaches. Read more: Wedding Style...

Considering a Destination Wedding?

Here is some advice to help a couple decide… Lisa Light, founder and CEO of Destination Bride has outlined some of the common considerations concerning destination nweddings and suggests doing the following exercise as a couple: • With destination weddings, the possibilities are endless. Does this give you a giddy “the world is our oyster!” feeling–or a daunting, overwhelmed feeling? • A destination wedding promises a memorable experience. Either you don’t mind facing the unexpected, and “unforgettable” is just what you’re looking for . . . or you’d rather control every aspect of the experience rather than risk the “wrong kind” of “memorable”! • Because of the travel factor, a destination wedding typically is more challenging to plan. You see the difficulties of planning as a fair price to pay for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Or, your focus is already beyond the wedding; you’d prefer a simple ceremony and less hassle. With the pros and cons considered, and the guests on board, the answer to the question—Is a destination wedding really right for you?—may well be yes! “When you combine the allure of travel, a remarkable occasion, and an extraordinary cause for celebration,” she says, “the mix is rich with meaning, memories, and opportunities for bonding.” Read more at Bridal News...
